there is no natural reason embedded within the universe why violently coercive acts should be more expensive than voluntary ones. it is up to humans to design a system where there is a sharp increase in cost for using violent methods. natural rights libertarians often describe the problem as an ethical one and then simply neglect to even try to answer the engineering question.
